Thieves make off with gold jewelery in Ranipet

Thieves decamped with 21 sovereigns of gold jewellery, two kg of silver articles and ₹15,000 in cash from a dairy farmer’s house at Kalathur village near Walajah town in Ranipet on Wednesday.
Police said S. Palani (50) and his wife P. Parasakthi (48) had gone to their relative’s house in Kancheepuram on May 31 to attend a family function.
Police said the couple noticed gold earrings on the floor of the home. They checked the closet and found that valuables were missing. The couple also discovered that the door to the stairwell had been broken.
After being informed, the Avalur police visited the house with forensic experts. Fingerprints were taken. The police made a camera recording on the route. Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Sibin formed special teams to nab the culprits. A case has been registered. A probe is underway.
