P. Sumathi, a full-time member of the State Law Committee, was appointed as the Secretary of the Law Department. According to an official statement, Ms. Sumathi becomes the first woman to hold the post of Secretary of the Legal Department, marking a significant milestone. She succeeds S. George Alexander, who served for three years and retired on May 31.
