At an exciting IPL meeting at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, 17 -year -old Ayush Mhatre played his arms in his nascent career on Saturday and only six shorts of the IPL Century dropped. But it was not a missed milestone who dominated the discussion after the match-it was Matre’s selfless approach that won the heart and praise, including the former opener of India Virender Sehwag.

Matre, whose 94 of the 48 balls almost withdrawing the unlikely victory for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was returned in 17th place by slower delivery. But Sehwag believes that the intention of a young dough has never been a personal glory.

“He played according to the ball, who was bowed to him. He missed his shot, otherwise, in fact it was the ball that was ideally hit by six,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

“If he was thinking about his hundreds, he wouldn’t play the shot. That means he wanted to get to the border early at the beginning – he was thinking about the team,” added former opener of India.
