On Tuesday (September 23, 2025), the Supreme Court asked the Himachal Pradesh to come to clean its plans for disaster management, its climate change and tourism policy, construction and industrialization, details of mega hydroelectric projects, four -lane highways and over the years.
In the case of Suo Mot, the bench led by the righteousness of Vikram in the case of Suo Motu quoted the observation of the Supreme Court that for this phenomenon, such as continuous landslides, it is responsible, “humans, not nature, not nature, are during the sexual lands that were during the sexual period and during the sexual periods during the monso.

The court recorded a number of questions prepared for the state government by Amicus Curiae, the head of the lawyer K. Parameshwar, including “whether territorial (if existed) is performed on the basis of seismic activity/ landslides/ green cover/ ecological sensitivity”.
The court tried if the state had some environmental places that prohibit industrialization/ raising mega projects.
The bench was looking for details of the designated areas/ reserved forests/ sanctuary of wildlife/ national parks and environmental sites in the state of AO, whether environmental zones were announced in protected areas.
“Changing Green Cover”
He was looking for details about the overall designated forest area in the Himachal Pradesh and how much forest area has been diverted for forest use in the last two decades.

“What percentage of trees and forest cover has changed over the past two decades? District details have been recorded over the last ten years. It has been done by a tree survey and/or forest surveys and/or any other study to analyze changes if they exist, in the green cover in the state.” The Order asked.
She was also looking for statistics authorized by private entities or public sector businesses for firing 500 or more trees in bulk. Statistics over the past 10 years must be provided together with details of cases/ prosecution.
“Details of the Plans of Disaster Management prepared by the State and Steps that have been made to implement its implementation… Details of the resources assigned to the administration of disasters in the state over the last 20 years and details of its use to be recorded. The upcoming/ proposed highways (State/ National) and their completion phase.”
The court was looking for details to be recorded before the next hearing on October 28.
