
The clashes broke out in Maddur Town of Mandy District in Karnataka during the immersion of Lord Ganesh Idol on Sunday (September 7), the police said.
Miscreants allegedly covered stones from another community, leading to widespread unrest. Prohibition commands were stored after the incident.

1. What exactly happened?
Police sources told PTI that the incident occurred when people participated in the parade of Ganesh Immersion in Ram Rahim Nagar in Kareni.
Among the young people of both communities, clashes reportedly broke out and forced the police to intervene.

Police across the districts were due to incidents reported from Maddur, Hubballi and Shivamoggy.

The authorities urged the population to maintain peace and warn against strict negotiations against those who spread rumors or disrupt municipal harmony.
The district administration appealed to both communities to cooperate with coercive bodies to restore normality.

5. Hindi Organization Protest
Pro-Hindus organizations organized a protest against the reported incident of stone pelting on Monday during the immersion of Ganesh Idol immersion in Maddur in Mandya.
The police allegedly used a slight lathi fees to distract the protesters.
6. More than 20 taken into custody
Mandya Superintendent of Police MALLIKARJUN BALADANDI said that two fir were registered – one was registered alone and the other on the basis of a complaint by the injured person.
He said that 21 people were taken into custody, followed by another arrest.

Karnataka Interior G Parameshware said that the situation in Maddur is under control of the municipal clashes that broke out during Ganesha Immersion Prossion 7 September.
