The second annual Apollo-Leicester Education Summit-2026, organized jointly by Apollo University, Chittoor, and University of Leicester, UK, was held in Vijayawada on Monday (May 11, 2026).
The summit brought together diplomats, academic leaders and industry experts from the UK and India to help post-secondary students understand the future of international education and careers in the age of artificial intelligence.
The summit focused on one of the biggest challenges facing families today: how students can prepare for careers in 2030 and beyond as industry, technology and employer expectations rapidly evolve. Through panel discussions and sessions led by experts, the event explored how education systems must adapt to bridge the growing gap between education and employability.
Daniel Ladley, Vice-Chancellor, Head of College and Executive Dean of the University of Leicester School of Business, gave a keynote address on the growing importance of globally relevant employability education.
The summit also included a panel discussion with Gareth Wynn Owen, Deputy British High Commissioner for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
During the session, Mr. Gareth Wynn Owen highlighted the growing collaboration between India and the UK in education, innovation and careers.
“The UK and India are building a partnership that goes far beyond trade. Education, research, technology and student mobility are increasingly important areas of collaboration. This creates exciting opportunities for today’s students to gain global exposure, develop future-ready skills and make a meaningful contribution across borders,” he said.
The summit featured sessions across business, technology, engineering and future careers, with discussions focused on artificial intelligence, global employability, digital transformation and the skills students will need in the coming decade.
