The Minister of Income Krishna Byre Gowda, who is also the Minister responsible for the Hassan district, said that the state cabinet granted an administrative consent for the revised estimate of Crore 63.34 GBP for the construction of a super-specialty hospital in Hassan.
In a press release published by the Minister on Thursday, he said that the construction of the hospital has already begun. However, due to lack of funds, the work was not completed and many patients who visited the hospital were handed over to other hospitals in Mangalur and Bengalur, he added.
“The elected representatives and people in Hassan brought this question to my announcement. I spoke about this matter with the Minister for Medical Education and the Chief Minister and asked for the completion of the construction.
Activists of various progressive organizations in Hassan have recently organized a number of protests requiring funds for a super specialized hospital. They emphasized the need to improve health services in the district as a result of recent incidents concerning sudden deaths in the district.
