The faction-driven politics of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to haunt the Palnad region of alleged Power Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar. His remark comes in the wake of the recent murder of YSRCP activist Mandy Salman in Pinnelli village of Gurazala Assembly constituency in Palnadu district.
The Minister of Energy together with the Minister for Social Welfare Dr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of a divisional office of the Department of Electricity at a cost of ₹ 4.19 crore in Darsi district on Saturday 21 January (21 January 2006, Prakasam). He later addressed the congregation in a public meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Kumar said, “YSRCP leaders are behaving as if they have patent rights to murder politics in the state. During their (YSRCP) government of five years, they completely devastated the Palnadu region. Now that the state is on the path of development, they are unable to tolerate progress.”
Mr. Ravi Kumar said that few political parties were formed just to protect their property. He further said that the policy of killings is not the policy of the coalition government, unlike the policy followed by the YSRCP, and claimed that no one who commits a crime will be spared as the law will take its own course.
Later, the ministers performed a bhoomi puja for the 33/11 kV substation to be constructed at a cost of ₹ 3.90 crore at Ullagallu village in Mundlamuru mandal of the district. They also unveiled a statue of TDP founder late NT Rama Rao at Ullagallu and inaugurated a newly constructed bus shelter at Pasupugallu village.
The Power Minister revealed that industrialists have come forward to set up a green energy plant with an investment of ₹13,000 crore in Kakinada because of their confidence in Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
“Mr Chandrababu Naidu has not only linked Godavari and Krishna rivers but also completed 84 per cent of the Polavaram project. To complete Amaravati capital and ensure a better future for generations to come, he must remain in power,” he said, urging TDP leaders and cadres to put aside their differences and work together to strengthen the party.
