Delhi Public School, Kollam on Saturday hosted the third edition of Model United Nations (MUN) 2025, an intellectually stimulating event that brought together young delegates from various classes to address pressing global issues.
The event was inaugurated by S. Anandan, Resident Editor of The Hindu. He emphasized the importance of ethical journalism, informed dialogue and critical inquiry – values that are closely aligned with the principles promoted by the United Nations. Mr. Anandan spoke about the challenges facing the UN as a result of the changing world order and the emergence of threats such as cyber-terrorism and climate change. He emphasized continued dialogue despite setbacks to foster a shared hope for humanity.
School Principal Sanjeev Kumar SL commended the participants for their enthusiasm, confidence and determination to promote constructive debate and global awareness. The sessions witnessed lively discussions, spirited proceedings and remarkable displays of leadership as students assumed the roles of global delegates addressing real challenges.
The event ended with a closing ceremony, which included a summary of the commission’s proceedings, reflections on the importance of dialogue and cooperation, and the presentation of awards to outstanding delegates.
