The Minister of Education of the Union Dharndra Pradhan issued letters of the plan (LOIS) for four foreign universities – Australian Western Sydney University (WSU), Victoria University, La Trobe University and British University in Bristol – for establishing their campuses in India on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).
Mr. Pradhan said in Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (Abs), in memory of five years of national educational policy 2020, he said that up to 15 international universities will establish his campuses in India. “Of these, the University of Australia Deakin University and the University of Wolllongong has established a campus in the gift city of Gujarat and the British University of Southampton in the Grrabogram Dilli NCR,” said Mr. Pradhan.
ABSS serves as a platform for the creators of politicians, educators, leaders of the industry and the government representatives to review progress within NEP 2020 and map the way forward.
Western Sydney University (WSU) opens the campus in Velké Noida, Victoria University will set up a Noida campus. La Trobe University will set up his Indian campus in Bengalur, while the British University of Bristol will establish a campus in Mumbai.
WSU plans to offer higher education – BA in business Analytics, and in the field of business marketing – and postgraduate titles, MBA in innovation and business and in the logistics and supply chain on Greater Noida. WSU cooperates with All India Institute of Ayurveda for Ayurveda-Modern Medicine, the Ministry of Jal Shakti on the Groundwater Management, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on Food Security and the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) on neuromorphic engineering.
The Noida Victoria University area proposes to offer higher education in the field of business, science of data and cyber security, as well as postgraduate titles in MBA, Master’s information on information and technology.
In their Indian campus in Bengalur at La TROBE University, he proposes to offer university education in the field of business (finance, marketing, management), computer science (AI, software engineering) and public health and open a common PhD academy with IIT Kanpur for health, water and city planning.
University of Bristol Is Planning to Start Operations in 2026 and Will Offer Joint Undergraduate-to-Master Programmes, Student Exchange, And Collaborative Research in AI University (Sri City), Enabling Indian Students to Complete Undergraduate Studies in India and Pursue Masters Degrees at Bristol in Innovation, Policy, and Analytics.
Mr. Pradhan also said that various states have developed plans for the implementation of pre -school or basic education in their mother tongue, which is the spirit of NEP 2020 implementation. He also stated that the introduction of new textbooks from the National Educational Research and Training Council (Ncert) is a shift in paradigm education.
The Minister also announced educational projects worth more than 4,000 GBP Crore in ABSS 2025 inauguration. These include improvements in infrastructure in the Central Secondary Education Council (CBSE), Jawahar Vidyalaya and Kendriy Vidyalayas.
Mr. Pradhan has launched several digital initiatives, including the App Portal Tara portal, which aims to assess and improve the fluency of reading among students in class 3 to 8. AppM (words correct per minute), phrasing, intonation and stress to assess the expression and understanding of reading. He also launched my career advisor application, which offers access to more than 1,000 career paths, including detailed information about work roles, educational requirements, necessary skills and future prospects.
