Commissioner of Police (CoP) SV Rajashekar Babu said on Wednesday (December 10) that tight security has been ensured for the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana (abandonment) at the top of Indrakeeladri and along the banks of the Krishna river. The Bhavani Deeksha surrender will begin on Thursday (December 11) and end on December 15, according to Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam management.

The CoP directed the officers and staff to be courteous to the devotees. Staff on duty at various places should alert the officers in case of rush at bathing ghats, homagundams, virumudi viramana, queues, prasadam counters, kalyanakatta and other places, he said.
Police personnel will also be deployed along the queues, Pandit Nehru Bus Stand, Railway Station and other public places to prevent kidnapping and theft, Mr. Rajashekar Babu said. “Lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the temple and have darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga,” he said.
He later visited the bathing ghats and other places on top of Indrakeeladri and verified the functioning of the CCTV footage and directed the policemen to take all measures for the smooth running of the event.
