The man drowned as he saved two students near Checkdam in the Kanniyakumari district. Peter Johnson was in swimming in Kuzhithurai Checkdam in Vilavancode Taluk around 11:30 on June, when he noticed that two boys, Mano and Akilesh slipped into the water. He helped save their lives, but drowned.
The main Minister of MK Stalin, who described his death as an irreparable loss, announced Solatium RS. 10 Lakh from the Fund for Helping the Public Minister. The Secretary General Aiadmk Edapadi K. Palaniswami ended death and described the heroic act. “Although Peter has died, he will continue to live with two students he saved,” said Aiadmk leader.
