The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is considering a recommendation to the state government to include the dates of birth of the bride and groom on marriage invitations to curb. child marriages and teenage motherhood in the state.
“We are planning to write to the Rajasthan government which has a similar policy. We will study the policy, existing laws and then send a proposal Maharashtra government,” Commission Secretary Pankaj Deore told The Hindu on Wednesday.
