Amid speculation of a leadership change in Karnataka, KN Rajanna, a close aide to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said on Tuesday that he was willing to “either sacrifice power or continue in office” as directed by the Congress high command and Rahul Gandhi.
Mr Rajanna also indicated openness to a change in leadership, in an apparent reference to Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC president DK Shivakumar, whose supporters have been pushing for his elevation. He called on the high command to end the insecurity, warning that it was affecting the party and the government.
