The Indrakeeladri Parirakshana Samithi expressed appreciation for the decision of the temple management to give preference to common devotees in darshans at the Kanaka Durga temple. In a statement released on Tuesday, Samith representative Nagalingam Shivaji thanked the chairman and managing director of the temple board for their “devotee-friendly” reforms.
According to the Samiths, the temple authorities allowed darshan of the ‘antaralayam’ (inner sanctum) for devotees arriving for ‘Dharma Darshan’ and ensured that common pilgrims were given importance during their visit to the shrine of Goddess Durga. The Samiths termed the move as a welcome step and urged the management to continue the practice regularly.
The Samith leader also highlighted his continued efforts to promote ‘Sanātana Dharma’ among the Harijan and Girijan communities through dedicated education and religious awareness programmes. Mr. Shivaji appealed to the temple authorities to introduce more such reforms in the larger interest of protecting dharma and to strengthen traditional values.
