The Indian Bank of the Public Sector handed over sanctioning letters worth 1,011 Crore more than 3,000 women, extending financial support for groups across Tamil Nadu.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Finance Services, the Secretary of M. Nagaraju submitted checks to recipients in the mega self -help group of the credit field program, which took place in the Tamukkam Convention Center in Madurai.
In his short address Mr. Nagaraju stressed that access to capital for livelihood activities is essential. “Such initiatives not only reduce addiction to sources of informal credits, but also help integration into a formal financial ecosystem,” he said.
“The event included more than 3,000 women from various self -help groups across Tamil Nadu. During the Mega SHG Credit Outreach program, sanctions were handed over on Sunday (July 13, 2025).
On this occasion, the CEO and CEO of Indian bank Binod Kumar, Executive Directors of Ashutosh Choudhura, Shiv Bajrang Singh and Brajesh Kumar Singh were present.
The Indian bank has so far helped 5.09 lakh with sispening groups in favor of more than 60 lakh women. The bank currently stands as the 4 largest banks of the public sector in SHG financing with more than 10 % of the market share and the 2224 Crore credit portfolio since March 2025, she said.
