The increase in the agricultural land survey fee has been suspended
Amid criticism over increasing fees for various services at the revenue department, the state government on Monday decided to temporarily withhold the revised fee for various land survey applications received from the public under the Ministry of Land Survey, Settlement and Land Registration’s Mojini system. The new fee came into effect on October 1.
This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister G. Parameshwara. “In view of the severe drought situation prevailing in the state and keeping in mind the interests of the farmers, Mr. Parameshwara has directed the officials to temporarily withhold the revised fee for various survey applications received under the Mojini scheme,” the note said. He used to defend the hike.
A decision has been taken to temporarily withhold the revised fee so that the increase in survey and revenue service fees does not pose an additional burden on farmers, he said.
He specified that until further orders, the fee structure in effect before October 1 will continue to apply for Mojini services.
