The High Court in Delhi on Wednesday (October 15, 205) was looking for the Union’s government response to the long -waiting vacancies in the National Minority Commission (NCM).
The divisional bench of Main Judge Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and the Justice Tushar Rao Gedel, while heard an application for a saw submitted by my Mujahid NAFEES, who claimed to be sending a coordination committee for minorities working on the well -being of minorities throughout India.
The court, which granted time to the Central Government to gain instructions on this matter, said the petition raises a very important problem.
“Don’t wait for the next date of hearing. Make sure things start to move,” the court said.
The petition said that the posts of the chairman, vice -chairmen and members of the NCM have been unoccupied since April this year, the month when the last chairman of NCM IQBAL SINGH LALPURA completed.
The NCM, which works under the Ministry for Minorities and has quasi-Sound powers, should have seven members, including the chairman, and the vice-chairmen. The 1992 National Commission Act orders the appointment of one member from each of the six minority communities – Muslims, Christians, Sikh, Buddhists, Parsi and Jain.
“There is a complete and systematic inability of the National Committee for Minorities because the Center failed to appoint a head and members. This justification of the executive executive proceedings was caused by a vital body, created by the act of Parliament for the protection and well -being of Indian reported minority communities, completely banned and without head.
The petition added that the inactivity of the government is further impaired by the fact that it is in direct contradiction with the spirit and letter of the previous order from the Supreme Court, where it expressed its dissatisfaction with such delays and ordered the vacancies to be quickly occupied in the timeline.
