The contractors ordered the couple to be forced into hard labor for four years in Hyderabad

The Miyapur police booked two contractors for restricting the couple and forcing them to work as bonded laborers for the past four years after they borrowed money for medical treatment.

The case was registered on the statement of A. Srinua, Mandal Revenue Inspector (MRI), Serilingampally mandal, who said that Kota Srinivas, 40, had borrowed ₹2 lakh from a contractor Ramulu and another ₹1 lakh from a contractor Krishna to meet his wife’s medical expenses.

According to the complaint, the two contractors subsequently brought Srinivas and his wife Ramya to an under-construction building at Prem Nagar in New Hafeezpet, Miyapur, where they were illegally confined and forced to work as bonded laborers for the past four years.

The police registered a case and started an investigation into the allegations.
