In a surprising late night, S. Ravi, who headed the State Intelligence Service in Karnataka, was dropped and replaced by Labhu Ram, his junior officer, on April 28. Mr. Ram is the fourth intelligence chief in the three-year tenure of this Siddaramaiah-led government.
KV Sharath Chandra and Hemanth Nimbalkar held the post before Mr Ravi and all three were removed in sudden moves – Mr Nimbalkar through the stampede during RCB’s victory celebrations and the other two without any clear explanation.
