
The state government transferred a case concerning the murder of a five -year -old girl and police shooting in which the accused died in Hubball on Monday at the criminal investigation department.
CID officers, superintendent police of Venkatesh K., Deputy Police Director of Pueeth Kumar and a circular inspector of the Police Manjunath Adhikari, arrived in Hubball on Tuesday to start the investigation.
They visited the crime scene, met police officials involved in the initial investigation and visited the hospital. They interact with Deputy Commissioner M. Ravish and other officers, police sources said.
The CID team also met doctors in a government morgue.
Police told them that the postmortal examination of the body of the accused Ritesh Kumar began. This is done in the presence of five witnesses. Officials gathered visceral samples to see if the accused had consumed drugs.
The police said that after postmort they decided to keep the body because the family members had not yet arrived.
The decision on what to do if the family never comes, will be taken in a few days.
MP BJP Jagadish Shettar visited members of the victim. He talked to a girl’s mother who urged Mr. Shettar to work with all the participants to ensure that her daughter got justice.
Mr. Shettar said he was very sad about the incident, but very happy about the fast action of the police. He said he would meet and congratulate the sub-inspector police Annapurny Mukkannavar, who shot the accused in his foot after he died.
He said that the recent statement of the Minister of House G. Parameshware on offenses against women was irresponsible. He called on the Minister of the Interior to take strict steps against the spread of drug threats in the state, especially in urban areas.
Mr. Shettar demanded that the state government to release the family of the victim of 25 lakh.
