Experts said firm timetables for these shipping routes should be communicated to exporters and logistics supply chain managers along with assistance in moving cargo from these pristine West Asian ports to their final destination.
“A fixed shipping schedule on these alternative trade routes would be very helpful for everyone. Moreover, in some cases the cargo reaches ports like Khorfakkan but is unable to move forward to the destination,” said Dushyant Mulani, former president of the Federation of Forwarding Associations of India (FFFAI). “Even for such cases, there should be help from the government,” he added.
