The role of municipal workers in the development of Vijayawada is invaluable and their services during the pandemic and floods of 2024 are memorable, MP Kesineni Sivanath said on Wednesday.
He was speaking during a community lunch organized for municipal workers by United Telugu Kitchens (UTK) at their outlet in Vijayawada on Wednesday to mark the launch of its 5th anniversary.
Appreciating the management of the restaurant for serving food to the municipal workers, the MP said that if Telugu cuisine is popular all over the world, it is because of entrepreneurs like Koushik Koganti and Theji Pinnamaneni who started UTK. “Today, to any country, be it Japan, the United States of America, South Africa, you see people appreciating Telugu food,” added Mr. Kesineni.
According to a statement from management, the community lunch is the first initiative in a series of annual events planned throughout the year. The co-founders said the community lunch was organized for the workers to thank them for their contribution to the development of the city.
Vijaya Dairy Chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu and others participated in the programme.
