The body of a ten -year -old girl who disappeared in the Cherupuzha river in the manipuram near Code in Kozhikode was obtained after a three -day search on Sunday (September 7). The victim was identified as Thanha Sherin.
The accident occurred around 16:30 on September 5, when a girl who left the river with her mother and other relatives allegedly slipped and fell into the river. Her body was acquired almost 2 km from the accident site.
According to the police, the heavy flow of water made it difficult for rescue units to search late at night on the day of the accident. The help of a specialized diving team was later sought to coordinate rescue operations, they added.
