‘The best and the most powerful’: What British TV host Bear Grylls said about PM Modi in viral tribute | Today’s news
British TV icon and survivalist Bear Grylls took to X in the early hours of Tuesday, July 14, to shout out Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him one of the “best” and “most powerful” in the world.
Posting photos of the Man vs Wild host with Britain’s Prince William, former US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the post is captioned “I’ve met some of the most powerful leaders in the world. The best were never the loudest”.
A special episode of Man vs Wild was filmed in 2019 and a special episode of Man vs Wild was released in 2020 where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bear Grylls explored the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand and brought awareness to issues such as animal protection and environmental change, while PM Modi shed light on how to live with the love of nature and spread the message of “Vasudkamhaiva” Kutum; the idea that the world is one family. Through this message, he emphasizes the importance of protecting nature and leaving it unused for future generations.
Ahead of the episode’s release in 2020, Prime Minister Modi said: “For years I have lived among nature, in mountains and forests. Those years have a lasting impact on my life. So when I was asked to do a special program focusing on life outside of politics and also in the midst of nature, I was intrigued and wanted to be a part of it.”
This post and the episode are the latest bits of Bear Grylls’ deep connection to India, who fell in love with the country during treks across the Himalayas, even spending a month with Indian soldiers as a teenager before enlisting in Britain’s Special Air Service (SAS). He has also shot episodes of his show ‘Man vs Wild’ with other prominent Indian personalities like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Rajnikanth.
