Andhra Pradesh will host five regional investment conferences between October 7 and 26 as a prelude to the CII-2026 partnership summit in Visakhapatnam on November 12 and 13, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday.

Reviewing the preparations on Thursday, Mr Naidu directed officials to use the conference to attract investment, facilitate a memorandum of understanding and highlight the investment potential of each region. He said the main summit should go beyond the signing of the MoU and inspire entrepreneurs while strengthening the brand of the state.

The conferences will be held in Visakhapatnam (October 7), Kakinada (October 12), Guntur (October 16), Anantapur (October 23) and Tirupati (October 26). Their areas of interest will include AI and IT, semiconductors, marine and shipbuilding, green hydrogen, urban infrastructure, aerospace and defense, automotive, tourism, electronics manufacturing and advanced materials.

Mr Naidu asked officials to organize MSME showcases, introduce a ‘Shark Tank’ style initiative for startups and link Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs with regional conferences. He also called for entrepreneurship related lessons from Class VII and MSME parks in other 30 assembly constituencies.

The government has set a goal to transfer 80% of investment proposals by the end of October and to terminate 75% of transferred projects.

Officials said MoUs have been signed for 714 projects involving an investment of ₹22.57 crore from June 2024. Out of this, 473 projects worth ₹16.6 crore have been transferred and 247 have been grounded.

Domestic roadshows were held in Chennai, Coimbatore and Bengaluru, with further programs planned in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai. International roadshows were held in Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, and planned in Sweden, Japan and China.

Eleven ministers, 26 speakers and delegates from 21 countries have so far confirmed their participation in the summit, which is being held under the theme “Trade, Technology, Trust, Thought Leadership”. A curtain raiser will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on October 8.
