Members of the Andhra Pradesh Truck Owners Association (APLOA) on Friday (May 15, 2026) announced their support for the proposed nationwide ‘Truck Chakka Jam’ agitation scheduled for May 21-23, 2026, with the participation of transport organizations in 62 regions of the country. The protest is being organized under the leadership of the Diesel-National Committee (DNC) and the All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC).
In a statement, AIMTC Vice President (South Zone) and APLOA State General Secretary YV Eswara Rao said that among the key issues plaguing the transport sector are the sharp increase in fees for obtaining or renewing an Environmental Compensation Certificate (ECC), with light trucks being charged ₹2,000 and heavy trucks ₹000; the government’s proposal to make proficiency tests for diesel vehicles mandatory every four years from 1 November 2026; and the requirement for mandatory ECC tests for Euro-6 vehicles.
Claiming that these policies are putting serious financial burden on the transport sector and truck owners, he said that AIMTC has decided to intensify the agitation and as part of this nationwide protest, truck owners, transporters and allied sector associations across the country will participate in a ‘Truck Chakka Jam’.
Mr. Eswara Rao appealed to all transport organizations, truck owners, drivers and workers to extend full support and actively participate in the ‘Truck Chakka Jam’ protest programme.
