
Former English captain Michael Atherton feels that the Rohit Sharma test was not surprised because the 38 -year -old form and the captain eventually did not work. Rohit announced his retirement from the tests through the Instagram story, just before selecting for England Tour.
There were reports that indicate that the BCCi tried to move from Rohit and Atherton pointed to it in an interview with Sky Sports. Former Captain England said that eventually was decided as Rohit’s form dropped and India lost under his captain.

Atherton also said that the massive depth in the Indian cricket meant that patience with Rohit would be smaller due to his age.

Atherton feels that Rohit will go down as one of the greatest openers of ODI of all time, but he said that a 38 -year -old man had a fun test career. The former English captain said Rohit had to wait for a long time to get into the team.
Atherton said Rohit had a successful test career, but it wasn’t stellar.
“I think people look at him and his best format is ODI cricket. He’ll go down as one of the biggest ODI openers, isn’t it? It’s a successful record, ”she said on the test cricket.
Rohit recorded 4301 runs in 67 tests on average 40.57.
