
Vice -President Bccci Rajeev Shukl said that the test pension Rohit Sharma was his calling and the cricket council did not push the 38 -year -old on this decision. Rohit announced his retirement to retire through the Instagram story Wednesday 7 May, just before selecting for England Tour.
Shukla said in an interview with PTI that BCCI welcomes Rohit’s decision and stated that the Board of Directors did not put pressure on players who have decided to retire. Vice -President BCCI continued to praise Rohit for his contributions and welcomed him as a big dough.
Shukla said it was good that Rohit is still part of the ODI settings and the Indian team can take advantage of his experience and talent.
“As far as retired Rohit Sharma from the test cricket, he made his own decision. We welcome our decision. It is our policy that players who have decided to retire – we are not putting any pressure or saying anything or saying anything,” Shukla said in an exclusive interview.
“He contributed to the cricket testing. The more we praise him, the less it is. It’s a great Batsman. The good thing is that he hasn’t decided to leave the cricket yet. So we will certainly use his experience and talent.
“Choosing a new test captain is the task of selector”
There were relatively few names in Fray As for who will be the next captain of the India test. Shukla, however, said that selectors would call and should not be speculation around him.
“That’s the job of selectors,” Shukla said.
“No, there should be no speculation. Selectors will decide and tell you who is the captain, it is only and purely their calls.”
India will be a tour of England on a test series of five matches from June 20.
