Congress leader Rahul Gandhi acknowledged on Friday (July 25, 2025) that it was his “mistake” and not a party that they could not get caste census, and said it was now correcting.
Mr. Gandhi also said that in his political career he had made “mistakes” for 21 years, which protects the interests of the section of other classes (OVC) just as it should.
The leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, who dealt with “Bhagidari Nyay Sammelan” ObCS at the Talkator Stadium in Nový Delhi.
“I’ve been doing politics since 2004, it’s been 21 years old, and when I look back and do self-analysis, where I did everything I did the right thing and I couldn’t achieve two or three big problems for land, MGNGA, tribes account, I did these things wrong,” Gandhi said.
“As far as the Dalits, the tribes and the minorities are concerned, I should get good grades. When it comes to women’s problems, I should get good grades.
“But when I look back, I see clearly that in one thing I missed, I made one mistake – I didn’t want to protect the OBC section as I had,” Mr. Gandhi said.
He said he did not understand the problems of the ObC section deep 10-15 years ago.
“I understood the Dalitian problems that are clear; the problems of STS can also be clearly understood. CSL problems are hidden.
“I am sorry that if I knew more about your history and problems, I would be census.
He added, however, that in a way it was better that the caste census was not done earlier, because it would not be done in the way this would happen now after the example of Telangan.
“The caste census is a political earthquake. Shaved by the country’s political land. You did not feel his shock, but there will be an impact,” Gandhi said.
“In all Congress countries, we will perform caste census and X -ray of the population,” he said.
