Two Indians were killed and one kidnapped one after a terrorist attack in the southwestern Niger, the Indian Embassy said.
“During a nasty terrorist attack on July 15 in the Niger Dosso region, two Indian nationals tragically lost their lives and one was kidnapped,” the embassy published on Social media on Friday.
Unidentified gunmen attacked the army unit that guarded the construction site in DOSSO, about 130 kilometers from the capital Niamey, the local media reported.
The Indian mission said it was working with local authorities to repatriate the deadly remains of killed.
The embassy also works on “ensuring the safe release” of the Indian kidnapped.
The Indians in the West African nation are also recommended to remain vigilant.
