Messaging app Telegram has filed a court case challenging the Centre’s order that temporarily blocked use of the platform in a bid to prevent cheating in the NEET UG exam.
The court agreed to an urgent hearing after the lawyer raised the same issue at another hearing. Justice Tejas Karia is scheduled to hear the matter
The application block, which started on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) and will run till June 22, was introduced to prevent NEET aspirants from cheating in the exams.
Telegram did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
Last month, the government canceled the NEET UG entrance exam after authorities said they were investigating allegations that its questions were leaked.
