Telangana to extend support to preserve Telugu language in Mauritius: Bhatti

Telangana will extend all possible support to promote Telugu language, culture and ancient epics and heritage in Mauritius, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

A delegation led by Mauritius Minister for Public Service and Administrative Services Lachmuna Raj Pentiah met the Deputy CM at Praja Bhavan on Saturday.

He said that Telangana and Mauritius have shared cordial relations for a long time and recalled the common historical and cultural heritage between the two countries and the strong friendship between their people.

He said that Telangana has a special connection with Mauritius through Telugu language, culture and traditions. The Telugu community in Mauritius, he noted, is an important part of the country’s rich and multicultural society.

Mr. Vikramarka assured that the Telangana government would help to continue the Ram Bhajanam program conducted by the Mauritius government. “Our government will also provide support in the areas of education, culture, research, art and language.

The Mauritian minister said thousands of Telugus living in Mauritius are preserving and promoting their language, culture and traditions through the Telugu Cultural Center in the country.
