
Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) has launched a nationwide intervention against unlawful sale of abortion and abrasive drugs and revealed extensive violations across medical stores.
Between August 22 and September, DCA inspection 809 carried out the pharmacies and premises of unskilled experts. Officials particularly focused on indispensable sale of medicines for pregnancy (MTP) containing medicines such as mifepristone and misoprostol, which fall under the plan H rules H and cannot be sold without a registered physician.
The inspection revealed inconsistencies in 234 medical stores. The violation included the sale of abortion without regulations, the inability to issue or maintain accounts, the absence of registered pharmacists during the dispensing, the inability to maintain registers of prescription drugs and inconsistencies when purchasing and sales records.
As part of the enforcement drive, DCA issued an exhibition announcement on eingry facilities. The action of the department has so far resulted in the suspension of 165 medical stores and the cancellation of seven licenses under the provisions of the Drug and Cosmetics Act of 1940.
