The Airports Authority of India announced late on Friday that a technical problem at the Delhi airport that caused hundreds of flight delays across India has been resolved.
In a post on X, AAI gave a detailed note on the incident and added that there may still be flight delays at the Delhi airport due to some pending matters.
“The AMSS systems are now up and running. Due to certain backlogs, there may be some delays in the normal functioning of automated operations, but the situation will be normal soon,” AAI said.
Hundreds of flights at the Delhi airport were delayed and thousands of passengers were affected since Friday morning as a technical problem continued to plague the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS).
“The AAI at Indira Gandhi International Airport was addressing a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) that was causing a delay in the processing of flight plan messages. The issue was detected on November 6, 2025 in the IP-based AMSS system,” the airports authority said.
“Immediately, a review meeting was conducted by MoCA secretary with AAI chairman, ANS member and other officials and necessary instructions were issued to resolve the issues,” he added.
The AAI noted that necessary measures have been taken to mitigate the impact of the glitch at the Delhi airport.
“The OEM has been engaged and additional staff have been deployed to manually process the flight plans for the air traffic control system to ensure uninterrupted and safe flight operations immediately. A team of ECIL officials and AAI personnel is still on site,” it said.
The news from the Delhi airport came hours after a technical glitch was reported on November 6.
