Dora Pekec, a spokeswoman for New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s office, confirmed that a permit application was filed earlier this month to close the roads around Madison Square Garden from July 2-4. While officials have not released the applicant’s identity, several media outlets, including The New York Times, have reported that preparations may be underway for a major event tied to Swift and Kelce’s long-rumored wedding celebrations.

The news gained further attention after claims that several members of Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, had booked accommodations in Manhattan for the holiday weekend. Other reports indicate that Amtrak police officers at Penn Station, which is located below Madison Square Garden, have been told to expect increased activity associated with a possible Swift-Kelka wedding.

According to reports first reported by The New York Times, Swift and Kelce may host an intimate gathering of around 100 guests on July 2, followed by a significantly larger celebration on July 3 that could include live performances and hundreds of attendees. Event permits reportedly require space for 500 to 999 guests, along with temporary structures and street closures around the venue.
