Taxi driver killed, five Mysuru BEOs injured in accident on Mysuru-Bengaluru highway

A taxi driver carrying Block Education Officers (BEO) from Mysuru district was killed in an accident on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway that also left five officials injured.

While the deceased has been identified as the car driver Anand, a resident of Mysuru, the injured officials are BEO Mysuru North Revanna, BEO Mysuru Rural Prakash, BEO Mysuru South Krishna, BEO Nanjangud Mahesh and BEO HD Kote Raju.

Five BEOs of Mysuru district were on their way in a rented car to a meeting in Bengaluru when it collided with a truck near Ramanagara on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway.

Although a flat tire is being attributed as the cause of the accident, the police have closed the case and are investigating the case.

As a result of the impact, the BEOs were trapped inside the wrecked car. Passing motorists and locals joined the effort to extricate the officials and move them to hospitals.

While one official is undergoing treatment at MIMS in Mandya, four other officials have been admitted to private hospitals in Mysuru for treatment.
