Oddanchatram Assembly constituency in Dindigul district has remained a DMK stronghold for about three decades now.
Senior DMK leader R. Sakkarapani has won a total of six consecutive times in the assembly constituency from the 1996 general elections to the 2021 general elections. The DMK has been doing well in the House constituency even before the winning streak.
