The public protest against the Ambayathoda slaughterhouse waste processing plant has received support from various quarters.
At a meeting held in Koodathai on Saturday (November 1, 2025), a committee was formed to support the protest. The meeting was attended by about 40 people representing seven Mahal committees, five parishes and representatives of the parent-teacher association of three schools in the affected area.
The committee decided to support all activities of residents protesting against the factory. “We are planning to move the Kerala High Court seeking a judicial inquiry into the matter. We are also examining the scope of the amicus curiae inquiry. We will not violate the bans,” said Girish John, a resident.
Janakeeya Manushyavakasha Prasthanam also came out in support of the protest. In a press release, Hari S., the convener of the movement, demanded an end to alleged police atrocities against the public in Ambayathoda and the lifting of bans.
