The leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Iltija Mufti, also the daughter of the former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Muftion Friday (April 1, 2026) asked the J&K police to stop summoning internet users in the Valley in a First Information Report (FIR), days after it released a video of late separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s speech on the importance of Urdu for J&K.
“I take full responsibility for the recent Urdu video I tweeted. I have noticed that others who shared it are being summoned by the Cyber Police (J&K Police). I urge them not to do so and instead ask me any pressing questions they may have. I am a law abiding citizen and will cooperate fully,” Ms Mufti said in a post on X.
