The Institute for Climate Change Studies (ICCS), an institution of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), will hold a stakeholder dialogue on seasonal forecast preparedness and planning on May 21.
The event titled ‘Monsoon Watch’ will be organized in collaboration with India Meteorological Department, Indian Meteorological Society, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority and Directorate of Environment and Climate Change.
It is a knowledge sharing and dialogue platform that aims to present the seasonal monsoon outlook for Kerala and encourage proactive engagement of stakeholders across sectors. With the 2026 monsoon approaching, the forum will seek to translate climate science into actionable insights through informed discussions, shared strategies and enhanced preparedness, organizers said.
It will bring together meteorologists, policy makers, line departments, disaster response teams, researchers and other key stakeholders. It will also review sectoral preparedness and response strategies, including disaster management, water resources, agriculture, public health and local governance, while identifying actionable lessons and promoting collaborative approaches to monsoon risk reduction and sustainable resource planning.
