SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has launched an AI-powered recruitment agent for staff recruitment.
The platform, called Scout, was developed in collaboration with Prayag.ai, a company that helps businesses adapt AI to operations. Scout automates the recruiting workflow, from resume screening to final interview evaluation, analyzes job descriptions, identifies the competencies and skills required for the role, and evaluates candidate resumes based on that, the press release said. The platform includes provisions for secure biometric facial authentication of candidates, followed by knowledge assessment and AI-powered conversational interviews where questions are generated based on the candidate’s CV and job requirements. It also has an AI-based neglect monitoring system and generates a comprehensive assessment report and AI-generated recommendations with rationale.
At the launch, C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRMIST, said it was the first university to introduce an AI-powered agent for teacher recruitment. P. Vaidyanathan, CEO of Prayag.ai, said Scout was designed to simplify recruiting while providing evidence-based insights that support better hiring decisions.
