Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (October 17, 2025) discussed a range of issues such as development cooperation and welfare of Indian fishermen with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.
Ms Amarasuriya met Mr Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.

“I am pleased to welcome the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mrs. Harini Amarasuriya. Our discussions covered a wide range of areas including education, women’s empowerment, innovation, development cooperation and the welfare of our fishermen,” PM Modi said in a post at the X.
“As close neighbours, our cooperation is of immense importance for the prosperity of our two nations and the shared region,” Mr Modi said.
