
Kudumbashree’s Snehith Gender Help Desk, who is the provision of shelter, counseling and other services to women and children at the age of 12, solved 6 605 cases only in the financial year 2024-25.
Up to 1,692 people, including women and children, received shelter. Of the total number of cases, 1,102 concerned domestic violence, 233 sexual violence violence and 136 other forms of violence violence.
These activities were carried out with the support of the police and the children’s lines.
Since she started operation of August 23, 2013, Snehitha has been dealing with 60,889 cases. A temporary shelter was provided up to 11,776 people, including women and children.
Free legal assistance, medical assistance and consulting services were provided in 49 113 cases in cooperation with the district legal service body. These were cases that came to the Snehith office, personally and those who were accepted by phone.
The 24 -hour auxiliary board under the auspices of Kudumbashree provides women and children who come to Snehitha directly with various problems of temporary shelter for a maximum of three days.
In cases that require rehabilitation, support is provided in cooperation with various departments and non -governmental organizations. Advisory services are also provided to those who need psychological support.
Snehitha currently works in all 14 districts and as part of the Attrappady Tribal Comperture Development project. Each SNEHITHA office has 11 employees, including two advisors, five service providers, an office assistant, a manager and two security guards who work on a shift.
To extend the activities of the Gender Help Desk, the Snehithi extension centers were launched at police stations under Jurisdiction 84 Deputy Police/Assistant Commissioner of Police Agents in the State in cooperation with the domestic separation. These centers are aimed at ensuring psychological support by representatives of community advisors to help women and children coming to police stations. Eleven sub -centers of Snehitha extends the services of gender help desk to far and isolated areas.
