The Sathya Sai District Police on Friday (July 24, 2026) arrested six youths on charges of ‘six-time riding’ on a two-wheeler under Hindupur Rural police station limits.
According to the police, the local youths, all in their 20s, tried to flee after spotting the checkpoint. Hindupur Rural Circle Inspector Janardhan and Sub-Inspector Chilamathur Sridhar chased and apprehended them. Instead of legal proceedings, the police advised the youths about the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of obeying traffic laws.
The officers asked them to think of their families before risking their lives on the road. “Traveling six people on two-wheelers is illegal and potentially fatal. Strict legal action would be taken against traffic violators under the Motor Vehicles Act and their vehicles could be impounded in accordance with the law,” the circle inspector said.
