KTR demands justice for students, resignation of Union Education Minister for NEET paper leak

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) demanded that the Prime Minister force the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, withdraw all cases filed by the police against the youth and students protesting in New Delhi and offer an unconditional apology for the excesses committed against the protesters seeking action on the NEET paper leak issue.

Addressing a protest organized by the BRS student wing, BRS Vidyarthi, at Indira Park here on Friday to express solidarity with students protesting in Delhi over the leak of NEET question papers, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is playing with fire as he tries to suppress the voice of General Z. He condemned attempts to label anti-social protesters as terrorists.

If the Center was sincere, it would have held a dialogue with the protesters several times to resolve the issue instead of resorting to oppression and intimidation. There was no leader or party behind the protesting youth and students, the BRS leader said, adding that the voluntary support in the form of various funds was a sign of the growing unrest among the youth against the Union government.

Declaring that the country is witnessing a dangerous trend of targeting those who demand accountability instead of those responsible for failures, Mr. Rama Rao said that the voice of India’s youth cannot be silenced by force or intimidation, and argued that any attempt to suppress democratic dissent would only strengthen such movements.

Addressing the state government, he said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was helping to divert public attention from the Centre’s failure and alleged that instead of leading a united fight against the Center on an issue affecting students across the country, Mr. Reddy chose to target the BRS for political gains.

He accused Mr. Revanth Reddy of avoiding any confrontation with the BJP and trying to divert attention by attacking the opposition.
