Shubman Gill once again caught the eye off the field after Gujarat Titans’ win over Punjab Kings. The GT skipper seemed to be continuing his now famous post-match banter, this time targeting the IPL 2026 table-toppers.
Gill has developed a pattern of dropping something on social media after big wins.Shortly after the victory in Ahmedabad shared a photo with Washington Sundar and Sai Sudharsan recreating a pose closely associated with PBKS, adding fuel to online chatter.

“Just live. Come tomorrow.”
This is not entirely new territory for Gill. Similar posts earlier in the season already drew attention, but this latest one only added to that growing pattern.
HOW SHUBMAN GILL STARTED BANTER STORM
Gill’s social media has quietly turned into a post-game extension of GT’s winnings.
It started in Chennai. After defeating Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk, Gill posted a picture of the iconic yellow whistle, a symbol deeply associated with CSK’s “Whistle Pod” culture. The caption read “Nandri Chennai” which only added to the audacity.

Then came the RCB game. After beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gill followed it up with another Instagram post featuring Virat Kohli. The caption “Play Bold @jaseholder98” appeared at first glance to be a praise for Jason Holder, but many fans read it as a clever twist on RCB’s “Play Bold” slogan.
And now with PBKS.
The pattern is clear. Beat a big team, drop a post that feels casual but feels like a nudge. Not loud, not over the top, but just enough to get people talking.
Some fans love it. Others feel it pushes the boundaries. Either way, Gill seems to know exactly what he’s doing.
HOW GT BEAT PBKS IN AHMEDABAD
The game itself had very little room for comfort.
Punjab Kings were on the ropes early and slumped to 47 for 5 as Jason Holder (4/24) led the way with sharp bowling. But they didn’t leave. Suryansh Shedge struck with 57 off 29 while Marcus Stoinis added 40 to drag PBKS to 163 for 9.
The GT chase looked under control due to the big parts. Sudharsan’s 57 off 41 gave them a stable base but Punjab kept finding ways to stay in the game and push it into the final.
With the game sharpening, Sundar came into his own. His unbeaten 40 off 23, including a crucial six, wrapped it up with one ball as GT finished at 167 for 6.
It wasn’t smooth, it wasn’t dominant, but it was enough.
– The end
