Leaders of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Andhra Pradesh state committee on Sunday cited delays in admissions to doctoral courses in state universities and demanded immediate release of the interview schedule for candidates who qualified in the Research Common Entrance Test (RCET).
In a statement, SFI State President G. Rammohan and State Secretary K. Prasanna Kumar urged the authorities concerned to speed up the admission process. They said that the RCET written exams were held from November 3 to November 7, 2025, and though the results were declared on December 15, no information about the interview schedule or the admission process has been released yet.
They added that their attempts to meet the vice-chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and the convener of RCET to discuss these issues also failed. Federation officials said there is growing anxiety among candidates waiting for the admissions process to begin, as they fear they could lose an academic year if the delay is prolonged.
As many students may lose scholarships, hostel facilities and other academic opportunities, they demanded that the RCET interview schedule be announced immediately and the admission process expedited to ensure transparency.
