Nineteen persons, including eight sex workers and 11 transgender persons, were arrested during a week-long drive conducted by the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and SHE Teams between November 29 and December 5, 2025. Besides, three victims were rescued and seven accused were arrested in four cases registered under the Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
SHE teams also conducted 152 sting operations, catching 51 people red-handed while committing indecent acts in public places. While cases were formally registered in these cases, the remaining individuals were counseled on legal and social norms. In addition, the teams received 15 complaints from women victims through various channels.
Family counseling efforts continued, with 31 families successfully reunited after marital or domestic disputes through family counseling and CDEW centers.
As part of ongoing prevention and awareness measures, AHTU and SHE teams conducted 112 awareness programs across Cyberabad. These sessions covered topics such as human and child trafficking, teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud. The programs also promoted the importance of helplines such as Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, Dial 100 and Crimes 1930.
