Seven individuals were arrested for gambling during the late night raid at the hostel in Kukatpally on Saturday 11th October).
The Kukatpally Police Crime team confiscated cash in the amount of 97,370 GBP and seven mobile phones, among other things from the suspects who were found playing Teen Patti in Penthouse of Laxmi Hostel.
Those arrested were identified as Laxman Prasad Joshi, 40, Bogati Yogendra, 34, Hikmat Bahadur Bogati, 36, Bharath Prasad Dhamala, 30, Purna Prasad Jaisi, 43, Amar Kunwar, 50, 50 and Nirpa Bahadur Thikulla, all Hyderabad.
According to the relevant sections, the case has been reserved and further investigation is underway.
